About Treatment Advocacy Center
The Treatment Advocacy Center is the only national nonprofit dedicated exclusively to eliminating legal and other barriers to the treatment of severe psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Studies issued by our Office of Research & Public Affairs focus on overlooked issues such as the role of mental illness in fatal police shootings and the dwindling population of public hospital beds. Findings from our original reports routinely make headlines and inform the national conversation on mental health needs and policy.
